the school teaches

The project for the school complex stems from the intention the new building for primary school to be a recognizable sign in the urban fabric of Pont Canavese and a reference point for the future development of the surrounding areas. The new structure of the school complex and the new primary school are designed in continuity and relationship with the adjacent public spaces.
The contemporary architectural language of the artefact is mitigated by the choice of the typical materials of the place for the base made of local stone and is compared with the theme of the pitched roof that characterizes the buildings in the area. The architectural language and formal choices also come from a bioclimatic matrix of the design approach, from which the orientation of the building and its conformation in section derive.
